The Muskoka Jazz Jam is moving back to Wednesday nights. We're taking a couple weeks off and will resume on May 13, 2009!

Welcome to the website for the Muskoka Jazz Jam.

The MJJ happens every Wednesday at 8pm at The Hideaway Pub in downtown Huntsville. The evolution is just beginning, but if there is enough support, it will run every Wednesday night until further notice.

It's an experiment: If it draws enough people to the Hideaway, it stays; if no one shows up, it folds.

What's Been Happening

(July 16, 2008) For the past several weeks we have had a complete rhythm section: Tim Sullivan on piano, Bruce Rumble on bass and Joel Rendall playing very fine drums.

Most nights we get a couple of sax players (many thanks to the talented and frogressing Kim Barlow and Kathy Kilbourne) and the occasional bass player or drummer.

(April 3, 2008) We had our first upright bass player out last night. Bruce Rumble came up from Barrie and did some FINE playing.

With Bruce present, the Band-In-A-Box was given most of the night off - we tried it once with mixed results.

Sandy McLennan brought his electric bass as well and got us through "Footprints" with a great sound.
